Death of a Champion
The goddess Suzy Menkes announced it today : the it-bag is dead. I agree. Walking around with a thousand dollar trophée hung to your arm seems absolutely inappropriate in this recession period. The it bag became unethical. But what about the crazy shoes invading the dressings of all of us fashionistas ? Thank god, fashion has not gone all about ethics, and can still be a guilty pleasure. Feeling good matters too, in recession, doesn't it ?

Thank you for your very sweet comment on my blog !
RépondreSupprimerBut can you believe I haven't seen it myself ? What a shame ...
I never really believed in the whole it accessory...
RépondreSupprimerIf you like an item and are willing to pay it's price, why not.
But the whole concept of purchasing because everyone else is...
That's just not very appealing.
So I'm glad it's over, at least now we'll get to see who are the leaders and who are the followers.
xx.
Merci pour ton commentaire sur mon blog. Ca m'a fait super plaisir!
RépondreSupprimerI agree 100% with Noemi: if I like a bag, whether it's hype or not, and I am willing to pay an excessive price for it then that's my prerogative. I think Suzy Menkes might have got it wrong, there will always be people spending grotesque amounts of money on whatever is labelled "IT", recession or not.
